Rachel Gutish finishes 2nd in Denver Endurocross and the National Enduro series in the same weekend!

October 22, 2019 Lane Swall
Beta press 10-22-19.jpg

EnduroX Round 2 Overview:

Location: Denver, CO

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Rachel Gutish had a great performance last weekend placing 2nd in the Women's Pro class and is currently tied for 2nd place in the series points standings.

-Max Gerston finished just shy of the Super Pro podium in 4th place and is currently seated in 4th place in the series points standings.

-Morgan Tanke raced in the Women's Pro class finishing just off the podium in 4th place while also finishing in 3rd place in the men's amateur class.

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: 200 RR

"I am excited to have earned another podium finish in Enduro X. The track in Denver was fast and jumpy, which is one of my weaknesses. There was one jump that I was unable to fully clear, and I consistently lost time there each lap. Like last round, I somehow got tangled with another rider off the start, but this time I kept my composure keeping the bike and myself off the ground. On the second lap I was able to pass Maria in the corner right after the little log step-up. The 200 was a real advantage in the really short, tight corners given how light and maneuverable it is. That same lap I was able to pass Morgan in the matrix and moved into second. However, Shelby was already long gone by the time I made it into second. So I focused on trying to be smooth and ride clean, rather than potentially charging my way into a mistake. Hopefully I can get a better start at the next round and battle for the win!"

MAX GERSTON

Bike: 300 RR

"Denver Enduro X was awesome! The track was fast and not very technical which made for some insanely tight racing. My 300 RR ran clean and the team did a great job dialing it in with the change in altitude. I was able to card 4-6-3 moto scores for a 4th overall. That 6th in the middle moto was costly for my overall as I was one point away from putting it on the box. I know I can do it and look forward to Nampa in one week! Let's do it!"

MORGAN TANKE

Bike: XTrainer

"Since it was my first Enduro X race in over a year I decided to race the Men's Amateur class along with the Women's Pro class. The night started off well for me almost getting the holeshot and leading the amateur race, a few issues with lappers put me on the podium in 3rd racing with the guys. I got another great start in the women's race holding 2nd for a little bit charging for 1st. Unfortunately some mistakes got the best of me and I finished in 4th. I know what to work on for next weekend and am ready to redeem myself."

National Enduro Round 9 Overview:

Location: Sand Springs, OK

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Rachel Gutish finished in 2nd place on the Women's Elite class podium after traveling all night from the EnduroCross event, and is currently in 4th place in the series points standings.

-Mike Witkowski finished just off the NEPro1 podium in 4th place and is currently in 4th place in the series points standings.

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: 200 RR

"Although my wonderful parents drove the van all night from the Enduro X to the NEPG so that I could attempt to get some rest, to say the least I was a little tired. We arrived about 20 minutes before key time, and according to my watch I clocked four hours of sleep. The first couple tests I felt like I was riding in a dream, and in our sixth and final test I definitely hit the wall. I did manage to get my act together in test five though, and won the test by eight seconds. However, eight seconds doesn't help much when you're already over a minute down (laughs). So, I ended up with a pair of second-place finishes this weekend, and all things considered I am proud of how I rode and happy with how things went!"

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: 300 RR

"Once I started racing, I understood why the terrain was awesome! It was fast and flowy with sandy soil and really good terrain. I was having a complete blast and it showed in my results. I won the first test of the day and ended up second in the next test. After two tests of racing I was winning the overall. That was something I have yet to do at an Enduro! So to say the least, I checked some goals off my bucket list which was just winning a test. Let alone lead the race after two tests. I was competitive until the later stages of the race where the terrain changed to rock and I didn't feel as comfortable getting wild in the rocks, so I ended up with 4th overall for the day."

National Hare & Hound Round 6 Overview:

Location: Panaca, NV

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Joe Wasson finished on top of the Pro podium with the overall win and is currently leading the series points standings.

-Beta Support Rider: Zane Roberts took home another Pro 250 class win with a 6th place overall finish. Roberts' currently leads the series points standings with a 40 point lead.

-Morgan Tanke finished on the Women's Pro podium in 2nd place and is currently in 2nd place for the series points standings.

-Chance Fullerton battled a stomach virus and rode to a 5th place finish, and is currently in 4th place in the series points standings.

-Wasson's and Roberts' next race will be at the 7th round of the West Hare Scramble Series in Stillwater, OK on September 1st, which is also the East vs West Hare Scramble event! Tanke's and Fullerton's next event will be at the 7th round of the National Hare & Hound Series on September 14th in Lovelock, NV.

JOE WASSON

Bike: 430 RR

"Round 6 couldn't have gone any better!! I had a lot of confidence coming off the summer break! My Beta 430 was perfect all day long. It was a very tough race with the dust factors, so I knew I had to get out front quick! I got the lead about a mile into the race and never looked back!!"

ZANE ROBERTS

Bike: 250 RR

"I got off to a pretty good start this weekend but unfortunately pretty good was not good enough to stay out of the horrendous dust for the first part of the race. After about 20 miles the dust started to clear and I was able to start making some passes but had lost touch with the lead overall group by that point. I decided to play it safe and ride within my comfort zone to bring home a win in 250 Pro and 6th overall. While the overall position was not where I would like it to be, I was happy to win 250 Pro again and can't wait for the next round!"

MORGAN TANKE

Bike: 250 RR

"I got off to a slow start and didn't really find my groove until about 15 miles in. The course was extremely dry which made for some thick dust that made passing that much harder. I felt super comfortable on my 250 RR and started to flow and make some passes. I came into the pit in 2nd with 2 others right behind me. The Beta crew did what they do best and got me out of the pit in no time. Loop 2 was a little faster than the previous loop, I knew I had to charge and stay smooth. Not knowing where the other riders in my class where I gave it everything I had until the finish ending up in 2nd! "

CHANCE FULLERTON

Bike: 430 RR

"I went into this weekends race confident in my training and ready. That soon fell apart though as I began to feel very sick from food poisoning. I ran as well as I could and had to pull over a couple times. I still managed a Top 5 finish, so for the circumstances I think that's a pretty good result. I'm still looking for a podium here soon. Thanks to the team for everything"

Enduro X Round 1 Overview:

Location: Prescott, AZ

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Max Gerston finished out the 1st round just shy of the podium in 4th place.

-Rachel Gutish had a great night placing 3rd in the Women's Pro class.

-Both riders next event will be at the 7th round of the West Hare Scramble Series on September 1st in Stillwater, OK, which is also the East vs. West Hare Scramble event!

MAX GERSTON

Bike: 300 RR

"Prescott Endurocross was awesome. I had to ride the day show because of a rough last year so it was a long day of riding and racing. After being sick all week I wanted to get out there and do the best I could. I transferred straight to the main from the day show qualifiers and was having a blast on my 300 RR. It floated through the rocks like no other. In the three main event format, I went 5-4-4 moto scores for a 4th overall. I really wanted that podium as it was in sight! I can't wait to regroup and hammer down in Denver."

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: 200 RR

"I am so grateful to have finished out Rd. 1 of EnduroCross on the podium and not seriously injured. Another rider cut over on me about 3/4 of the way down the start straight. The resulting crash was so violent that she cracked her engine cases on my bike, while completely annihilating my front end. I was on the bottom of the pile, and by the time I got up everyone was pretty much gone. Despite never really getting my head back on straight after the crash, I was able to climb back up into third place, though it definitely wasn't pretty. I'm still super excited to get another chance at EnduroX, and I'm looking forward to round two in Denver!"

National Enduro Round 6 Overview:

Location: Wellston, OH

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Mike Witkowski finished in 5th overall and is currently in 4th place in the Pro 1 Class for the series points standings.

-Witkowski's next event will be at round 7 of the Sprint Enduro Series on September 1st in Laurens, SC.

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: 300 RR

"The National Enduro this weekend was held in Wellston,OH. I currently live only an hour from this track so I was excited for it. The terrain was very similar to what I normally ride. I had a complete blast at this track and was all smiles all day long. I ended up sticking around the 5th overall position all day with only one major mishap where I got off track and lost a lot of time. Other then that I had a fast last test time with 3rd overall. It was satisfying to know at the end I had the speed for the podium spot. Its just tough putting six test times together like that. All in All, it was a great time and an even better track. Big thanks to the NEPG group for laying out a fun course. So far this was my favorite all year. Also thanks to all the team partners and sponsors that make this all happen. The Beta 300-RR was epic all day!"

EnduroCross Round 6 Overview:

Location: Boise, Idaho

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

Ty Tremaine finished in 3rd place at round 6 in Boise, Idaho while ending the season in 3rd place.

Morgan Tanke placed 3rd at the event and finished the 2018 series in 3rd place.

Max Gerston had an 8th place finish at round 6 of EnduroCross, and finished in 12th place in the season points standings for the 2018 series.

Mason Ottersberg placed 11th at the event, while finishing in 9th place for the series points standings.

Beta USA Support Team

Ty Cullins had a 5th place finish at round 6 of EnduroCross and finished the season in 6th place in the Pro class. Cullins also won the Junior Pro Class Championship this season, which is a class for pro riders under the age of twenty one.

For more information about the EnduroCross series go to: www.endurocross.com

TY TREMAINE

Bike: Beta 300 RR Race Edition

"Coming into Boise, I was just thankful to be racing and healthy after the bad luck in Everett. Kyle Redmond had a one point advantage going into the race but I didn't even think about it. I knew what my goals were and I just raced my own race. I felt strong start to finish and managed to come away with a 3rd and couldn't be happier to put Beta on the podium. I'm happy with the year and excited for what the future will hold."

MAX GERSTON

Bike: Beta 390 RR Race Edition

"Coming into the Endurocross finale in Boise, I really wanted to have a strong showing. Still struggling with the finger injury I had a hard time in hot laps and stalled my bike. I qualified straight to the main and ended up 8th in the main. Issues on the first lap set me so far back it was hard to make up ground. I am very excited to refocus and get ready for 2019."

MASON OTTERSBERG

Bike: Beta 390 RR Race Edition

"I qualified 4th out of my heat race and finished 11th in the main event. My speed was there and this was for sure the best I have ridden, just was too far back off of the start of the main after we all came together in the firewood. I have had many ups and downs through the season, but I finished better in the championship this year with 9th over last years 13th. There is so much more of me to give in this sport and I will not stop until I've made it to the top. Doubt me or believe in me, it's going to happen."

MORGAN TANKE

Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"I felt a lot better going into the last round in Boise, my ankle still wasn't 100% but I was ready to give it my all. The track was really fun to ride and the firewood pit was very difficult to navigate. I started out in 3rd place and was hanging up front with the top 2 riders for most of the race. I was able to put in a smooth ride and get my Beta on the podium in 3rd. Breaking my ankle mid season was a big bump in the road, but I'm happy that I made progress each race and ended the year strong!"

TY CULLINS

Bike: Beta 300 RR Race Edition

"I had around 7th gate pick in the main event, but my starts have been good all year and I was able to pull the holeshot. However, after several mistakes on the first lap I was back in 9th place. From there I just tried to ride fast and consistent and was able to make my way to 5th, getting my third top 5 of the season and winning the Junior Championship. Coming into this year I was expecting to be top 10 and finishing the year one point short of 5th and winning the Junior Championship means I surpassed all my goals. I'm excited to get back to training and come back for podiums in 2019."

National Enduro Round 10 Overview:

Location: Stanton, Alabama

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

Mike Witkowski placed 9th in the Pro 1 class of the last NEPG event of the year. Witkowski ended the 2018 season in 11th place.

For more information about the National Enduro series go to: www.nationalenduro.com

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"The Gobbler Getter Enduro was one of the races I have never done before, and I have never raced in this state of Alabama. The soil is sandy and the trees are tight! The track conditions were near perfect. The tight trees and ever changing elevation caught me off guard. I was expecting this last National Enduro race to cap off a good end to the year since I did so well at the last GNCC event, but the race had other plans. It seemed like I couldn't get a good flow going, but talking with other riders, that seemed to be everyone's issue. On a good note, I finished the day stronger than where I started. My Beta 300 was perfect and very fun to race. I'm looking forward to working hard this winter and starting round 1 with a fresh start here in a couple months! Thanks Beta for all the support!"

TY TREMAINE

Bike: Beta 300 RR Race Edition

"I was a bit nervous coming into the weekend with absolutely no time at all on a Beta. After the first practice I felt right at home on the bike, and with the team, and I knew that I would be able to adapt to the Beta 300 fast. We made a few small changes and ended up qualifying 3rd into the night show. The night show was flawless and we were able to put Beta on the podium. From here, we can only test and make things better and better, so I believe the future will be very bright for myself and the team!"

MASON OTTERSBERG

Bike: Beta 390 RR Race Edition

"I went into round 4 with a new attitude and full of excitement. With my two week break from EnduroCross, I spent a lot of time riding in the desert and racing other events to do something new. I had a great day in practice finishing 7th in hot laps. Going into the night I finished the heats with a 5th place after some battling and carnage. In the main event; I finished 9th after running 6th for the last half of the race until a joker lane mistake cost me three positions. I'm happy with my riding, I finally felt like I got back what I have been missing all season and I know I'm capable of much more. Thanks to my team for all of the support and I want to congratulate Ty Tremaine for becoming our newest teammate. Really looking forward to having him on our team!"

MORGAN TANKE

Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"After missing a round due to a fractured ankle I was excited to get back to racing in Denver. I had gotten my cast removed last Monday and decided to race on Saturday. I got a really good start from the far outside gate and had a good first lap. I made a mistake in the rock section which forced me to put my bad foot down, after that I was in a lot of pain that I couldn't quite recover from. I'm glad I was able to salvage a finish and get my Beta out on the track. I'm hoping for better luck in Washington this weekend. I can't thank the whole Beta team enough for sticking behind me during this injury!"

Full Gas Sprint Enduro Round 8 Overview:

Location: Glen Daniel, West Virginia

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Jordan Ashburn placed 4th overall at the 8th round of the Full Gas Sprint Enduro Series and is currently in 6th place for the overall series points standings.

"I had an awesome time at the Sprint Enduro this weekend. I landed a 4th place after two days of racing. The golf course we raced was every bikers dream. I had some solid top 3 test times and stayed on two wheels all weekend. My Beta 430 worked really well for the weekend."

West Hare Scramble Round 8 Overview:

Location: Donner, California

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Extremely dusty conditions took it's toll on several riders last weekend. Max Gerston was forced to take a DNF after his motorcycle took in some dirt in the last round of the West Hare Scramble Series. Gerston finished the 2018 series in 4th place.

Gerston's next race will be at the 5th round of the EnduroCross Series on October 27th in Everett, Washington. For more information about the EnduroCross series go to: www.endurocross.com

MAX GERSTON

Bike: Beta 390 RR Race Edition

"The Donner Hare Scramble didn't go super well. I was running a solid third through the silt beds. My bike had sucked in some dirt and was running poorly but it was still working. On the last lap it stalled out and I couldn't get it going again. Unfortunately we didn't win or get the title, but we put forward our best effort. Huge thanks to my team for a hard fought season."

BETA USA SUPPORT TEAM

-Ty Cullins had a 6th place finish at round 4 of EnduroCross, and is currently in 6th place in the season points standings.

EnduroCross Round 2 Overview:

Location: Costa Mesa, California

•Beta Chile rider Benjamin Herrera finished in 6th place during his second EnduroCross event ever at the stadium packed round 2! Herrera is currently in 8th place right behind Beta USA support rider Ty Cullins in the series standings.

•Morgan Tanke placed 3rd at round 2 and is currently in 3rd place for the series points standings.

•Mason Ottersberg Placed 15th at the event and is currently in 13th place in the series standings.

BENJAMIN HERRERA

Beta Chile Factory Racer

Bike: Beta 300 RR Race Edition

"I am very happy with the result of the race, I was running up front with the speeds of first place which gives me even more confidence. I felt comfortable on the Beta 300RR Race Edition, and I can be even better because I know of all my mistakes and will correct them. The Beta USA team supported me a lot. We did the set-up of the bike very well in practice. I am very grateful for Rodney, Jason, Ryan, and Bryce for the support and help during the race! I loved the bike and the team! I can't wait to ride in the next round!"

MORGAN TANKE

Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"I was feeling really good coming into round 2. I really liked the track but unfortunately injured my ankle in practice. I was in a lot of pain before the main event but knew I needed to go out there and do my best. I was able to salvage a good result for the team out of a not so good day."

MASON OTTERSBERG

Beta 430RR Race Edition

"Going into round 2 I had a lot better mindset for the outcome of the night I wanted. I really felt at ease knowing I was setting times comparable to the top 6-7 guys. Unfortunately I made small mistakes that costed me a transfer spot in the heat after running fourth and fighting for third finishing in 8th. Going into my LCQ I ended up getting the hole shot and leading the first few laps until I dropped into second. From there I was fighting for 2nd all the way down to the finish line. Thank you to all of our sponsors and team for the opportunity to represent ourselves in front of all those people and show what Beta motorcycles is all about! "

Beta USA is happy to announce its latest addition to the Factory Race team; the talented young rider Cody Barnes. Barnes will be racing in the XC3 class of the GNCC series aboard a Beta 125 RR and the National Enduro series(NEPG) aboard a 250 RR in the Pro 2 class.

RODNEY SMITH

Beta USA Race Team Manager

"I'm very excited to sign Cody to our Factory team! He has been riding and developing our new 125 RR most of this year and now for the 2nd half of the season he feels he is ready to race the 125 RR! Barnes will finish out the rest of this year on the Factory Team in the remaining GNCC events. I'm Looking forward to seeing his full potential!"

CODY BARNES

Bike: Beta 125 RR & 250 RR Race Edition

"I am very excited to have this opportunity with Beta USA! I am looking forward to the rest of this year and next years race seasons. I believe that I will be able to put in very good results in these last 4 rounds of the GNCC series this year with how I am feeling on and off the bike. I expect myself to be on the podium in XC3 at every round and hopefully on the center of the podium. I feel awesome on the bike and think that is not only helping me with my riding but also my confidence level."

Morgan Tanke takes 2nd place in round 5 of Endurocross!

October 31, 2017 Lane Swall
Beta press 10-31-17.jpg

The fifth round of EnduroCross took place last weekend in Phoenix, Arizona.

Morgan Tanke had another great weekend on-board her Beta XTrainer placing 2nd place in the Women's Class main event. Tanke now sits in 3rd place for the series overall points standings.

Max Gerston placed 8th in the main event. Gerston is currently in 10th place in the overall standings for the Super Enduro Cross Class. Gerston is currently 7 points from 9th place and 9 points from being in 7th place overall.

Ty Cullins ran into some problems early on, but later finished the main event in 9th place. Cullins is currently placed in 11th, only eight points behind Gerston.

Round 6 of the EnduroCross series will take place in Boise, Idaho on November 4th. For more information on the series go to: endurocross.com

Morgan Tanke:
"Stoked to grab another podium this season! I struggled a bit in practice but I was able to shake it off in the main. I rode good, consistent laps with minimal mistakes to get a 2nd place finish. The track had two technical rock sections that I really liked and getting through them clean each lap played a big role in my end finish."

MAX GERSTON:
"Scottsdale Endurocross was good and bad. I finally started to feel a little stronger since my injuries about a month ago. However, I made it hard on myself in the main with a last place start and a crash in the sand section when coming together with a competitor. I was able to fight back to 8th in the main. Looking for a strong ride in Boise."

Ty Cullins:
"The night started out pretty slow when a crash in the qualifier sent me to the LCQ. I was able to get the win in the LCQ and go to the main where I ran a strong pace for the whole 14 laps and kept the mistakes to a minimum. I came away with a 9th place finish."

Jordan Ashburn finished 8th overall in the GNCC series!

The last race of the GNCC series took place last weekend in Crawfordsville, Indiana. This 13 race series ended with a bang as racers competed for final positioning.

The weather at the event was cold and wet, which provided optimum traction for riders in some areas of the course. However, some steep hill climb sections became a problem as riders fought to find traction.

Jordan Ashburn ended the day in 8th place aboard his Beta 300 RR, which put him in 9th place overall for the XC1 class.

Jordan Ashburn:
"Got a great start at the final GNCC this past weekend. The track made for some intense battles it was very fast and open. I was battling for a top 5 position for 3 laps but when I came into the the pits I got passed, everyone was really close. I made a few mistakes and allowed the group to get away from me. I found that making up time was very difficult. I ended up 8th in XC1. "

Morgan Tanke takes 2nd place in round 4 of Endurocross!

The fourth round of EnduroCross took place last weekend in Everett, WA marking the halfway point for the series.

Morgan Tanke rode exceptionally well on her Beta XTrainer; placing 2nd place in the Women's Class main event. Morgan now sits in 4th place for the series overall points standings, with only a seven point gap from second place.

Max Gerston is still battling his injuries, but was able to place 6th in the main event. Max is currently in 10th place in the overall standings for the Super EnduroCross Class.

Ty Cullins was placing in the top four in the qualifiers, but was caught in a pile up on the first lap of the main event. Cullins fought his way back through the pack, but went down later in the race and had to battle through to place 11th for the night. Cullins is currently in 13th place in the series and is in a close points race.

Round 5 of the EnduroCross series will take place in Phoenix, Arizona on October 28th. For more information on the series go to: endurocross.com

Morgan Tanke:
"After a rough couple of races it was great to get up on the box for the first time this season. I got a decent start, sitting in second. A tip over in a really slick corner and another small mistake set me back just a bit, but I was able to get back into the second place position. With 2 laps to go, Kacy Martinez and I had a good battle going. She definitely kept me on my toes and I knew any mistake from me would cost me a position. The finish line came around and I grabbed a solid 2nd place!"

Max Gerston:
"The Everett Endurocross was tough going, but a step in the right direction. I had a rough day all day struggling to find a rhythm because of my injuries. In a way, I was sort of saving myself for the main. When the main event came around I started second row. I was able to get a mid pack start and push through for a 6th. I am looking forward to the rest of the rounds and hope I start to feel better soon."

Ty Cullins:
"The track in Everett, WA was definitely more my style than most of the tracks recently. I felt good all day and was 3rd in the hot laps. After finishing 2nd in the qualifier and securing my spot in the main I was able to finish a decent 8th place in the gate pick race. In the main event I got caught up on the first lap and was around 8th when I went down in the firewood and got back up in last place and worked my way back up to 11th by the end."

Morgan Tanke takes 4th place in Reno!

Beta press 9-28-17.jpg

Morgan Tanke grabbed 4th place aboard her 2017 Beta XTrainer at Round 2 of the Enduro Cross Series in Reno. The event lasted way into the late hours of Saturday night, and competition picked up as racers battled for positioning. Tanke's solid finish placed her in fourth for the overall points standings in the series.

Ty Cullins won his qualifier round and was off to a great start, but in the main event he got stuck in a first turn pile-up which set him back. Cullins placed 9th in the main event, which landed him in 10th place for the overall points standings for the season.

Max Gerston is injured but hopes to return for the next round in Denver.

Round 3 of the Enduro Cross series will be held on September 30th in Denver, Colorado at the National Western Complex. For more information about the series go to endurocross.com

Morgan Tanke commented:
"Reno didn't really go the way that I was planning. My XTrainer got me off to a good start and everything was looking good until the rock section where my bike got buried in the gaps. I finally got out of the rock section only to do the same thing the next lap. I'm ready to put in some more work this week and turn things around in Denver!"

Ty Cullins commented:
"The track was pretty fast and more of a moto style, which isn't really my style but I was able to make it work and get the win in my qualifier. In the main I had a decent start but went down with a couple other riders in one of the first corners and had to play catch-up for the rest of the race. I battled my way back up to 9th by the end, my results are getting better and I'm looking to improve on them even more this weekend in Denver."

Injuries for Beta Riders at Round 11 of the GNCC
The last GNCC event in Masontown, WV was dusty to say the least. Beta rider Jordan Ashburn was having trouble finding his groove early on, and as he was starting to settle in a few mishap's took him out for the day.

Asburn was unable to finish the race due to some minor injuries, but is okay and will be competing in the next event. As a result Ashburn now sits in 8th place for the overall series points standings in the XC1 Open Pro Class.

Nick Davis also found himself in trouble after losing visibility in the dust and hitting a rock that made him go down. Davis ended up dislocating his shoulder when he landed and took a DNF, but he is looking forward to competing in Ohio.

Round 12 of the GNCC will take place in St. Clairsville, OH on October 7th and 8th. For more information on the GNCC Series go to gnccracing.com

Jordan Ashburn Commented:
"Well, I'm bummed today didn't turn out too well. I got a bad start and it was a super dust bowl. Lots of silt with rocks and super fast fields. I was chasing 6th for a lap and a half and couldn't get close enough to make a pass. I ended up crashing in a rocky field and landing flat on my back in a bunch of rocks. One hit me right at the top of my hip and I have a baseball-like knot. I tried to finish out the race but I wasn't able to."

Nick Davis Commented:
"Not a good weekend for me. Got off to a good start and was running fourth in the dust, but unfortunately couldn't see very well and lost the front end on a rock. When I came down I dislocated my shoulder and that was the end of my day."

EnduroCross Highlights and Round 6 of the NEPG Series

Enduro Cross Highlights

Round 1 of the EnduroCross series kicked off last weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Practice times started at 9:00 AM and races went on past 10:30 at night. A lot of riders said that the course was easy compared to what they raced last year, however there were a few difficult sections that created big problems for some of the riders.

When a rider went down, or got hung up on a section of the track, it created a traffic jam for the other riders behind them. The traffic jams allowed the riders that cleared the obstacles to increase their lead on the rest of the pack. Having everyone grouped together created a tight battle for positions and made the race super exciting to watch.

Overall the event was a great start to the season. The riders got a taste of what is to come for the rest of the EnduroCross series, while being able to see what they can improve on for the next event.

The next event in the series will be in Reno, Nevada on September 23rd.

Max raced on his new 2018 Beta 350 four stroke for the first time this year. The Beta Factory rider finished the 1st round of the series in 5th place.

Max Gerston Commented;
"The first round in Vegas went well. The 350RR suited the fast track perfectly but was still able to chug in the technical sections. I had a bit of a rough day program, which didn't set me up very well for the main event. However, I was able to ride to a solid 5th place. I definitely learned a lot and look forward to improving the rest of the year."

Beta Factory rider Ty Cullins won his qualifying heat that placed him in the main, but he had a few errors in the main event that landed him in 13th place for round one.

Ty Cullins Commented;
"The night started out good with a win in the qualifier, but in the main event I went down in one of the first corners and another rider had his bike on top of mine, after that it was hard to make up time on the fast paced track. With over a month until the next race, I know I will have time to work on my speed and fitness to be ready for Reno."

Beta Factory rider Morgan Tanke was doing great on board her Beta XTrainer, but an early traffic jam on the first lap of the main event caused her to fall to the back of the pack, which she didn't recover from. Morgan came in 5th place in the women's class for the first round of the EnduroCross series.

Morgan Tanke Commented;
"I struggled a little bit in Vegas and look forward to a few weeks break, so that I can work on a few things and come out swinging in Reno!"

Round 6 of the NEPG Series

The 6th round of the National Enduro Series was held in Matthews, Indiana. The riding conditions were perfect and the event drew in spectators and racers from all all over. Drew Higgins was in 11th place for the first test, but ended up finishing in 13th for the day.

Drew Higgins Commented;
"This is one of my favorite races on the schedule, because of the dirt, and it's more enduro trail. My day started out good, I was riding good in the first test, and ended up just outside the top 10. The second test I was riding good until I had a big get off, I rode as fast as I could for the last mile to get the best time I could. The next few tests were good for me. I changed it up for test 6, and made sure I made it to the finish safe."
