Rachel Gutish finishes 2nd in Denver Endurocross and the National Enduro series in the same weekend!

October 22, 2019 Lane Swall
Beta press 10-22-19.jpg

EnduroX Round 2 Overview:

Location: Denver, CO

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Rachel Gutish had a great performance last weekend placing 2nd in the Women's Pro class and is currently tied for 2nd place in the series points standings.

-Max Gerston finished just shy of the Super Pro podium in 4th place and is currently seated in 4th place in the series points standings.

-Morgan Tanke raced in the Women's Pro class finishing just off the podium in 4th place while also finishing in 3rd place in the men's amateur class.

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: 200 RR

"I am excited to have earned another podium finish in Enduro X. The track in Denver was fast and jumpy, which is one of my weaknesses. There was one jump that I was unable to fully clear, and I consistently lost time there each lap. Like last round, I somehow got tangled with another rider off the start, but this time I kept my composure keeping the bike and myself off the ground. On the second lap I was able to pass Maria in the corner right after the little log step-up. The 200 was a real advantage in the really short, tight corners given how light and maneuverable it is. That same lap I was able to pass Morgan in the matrix and moved into second. However, Shelby was already long gone by the time I made it into second. So I focused on trying to be smooth and ride clean, rather than potentially charging my way into a mistake. Hopefully I can get a better start at the next round and battle for the win!"

MAX GERSTON

Bike: 300 RR

"Denver Enduro X was awesome! The track was fast and not very technical which made for some insanely tight racing. My 300 RR ran clean and the team did a great job dialing it in with the change in altitude. I was able to card 4-6-3 moto scores for a 4th overall. That 6th in the middle moto was costly for my overall as I was one point away from putting it on the box. I know I can do it and look forward to Nampa in one week! Let's do it!"

MORGAN TANKE

Bike: XTrainer

"Since it was my first Enduro X race in over a year I decided to race the Men's Amateur class along with the Women's Pro class. The night started off well for me almost getting the holeshot and leading the amateur race, a few issues with lappers put me on the podium in 3rd racing with the guys. I got another great start in the women's race holding 2nd for a little bit charging for 1st. Unfortunately some mistakes got the best of me and I finished in 4th. I know what to work on for next weekend and am ready to redeem myself."

National Enduro Round 9 Overview:

Location: Sand Springs, OK

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Rachel Gutish finished in 2nd place on the Women's Elite class podium after traveling all night from the EnduroCross event, and is currently in 4th place in the series points standings.

-Mike Witkowski finished just off the NEPro1 podium in 4th place and is currently in 4th place in the series points standings.

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: 200 RR

"Although my wonderful parents drove the van all night from the Enduro X to the NEPG so that I could attempt to get some rest, to say the least I was a little tired. We arrived about 20 minutes before key time, and according to my watch I clocked four hours of sleep. The first couple tests I felt like I was riding in a dream, and in our sixth and final test I definitely hit the wall. I did manage to get my act together in test five though, and won the test by eight seconds. However, eight seconds doesn't help much when you're already over a minute down (laughs). So, I ended up with a pair of second-place finishes this weekend, and all things considered I am proud of how I rode and happy with how things went!"

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: 300 RR

"Once I started racing, I understood why the terrain was awesome! It was fast and flowy with sandy soil and really good terrain. I was having a complete blast and it showed in my results. I won the first test of the day and ended up second in the next test. After two tests of racing I was winning the overall. That was something I have yet to do at an Enduro! So to say the least, I checked some goals off my bucket list which was just winning a test. Let alone lead the race after two tests. I was competitive until the later stages of the race where the terrain changed to rock and I didn't feel as comfortable getting wild in the rocks, so I ended up with 4th overall for the day."

Zane Roberts with a Pro 250 win, Joe Wasson wraps up 2nd overall, and Mike Witkowski grabs second in XC2!

October 15, 2019 Lane Swall
Beta press 10-15-19.jpg

National Hare & Hound Round 9 Overview:

Location: Lucerne Valley, CA

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Beta Support rider Zane Roberts finished out the season with a win after sustaining a broken scapula only a few races prior to the event. Roberts ended the season 11 points behind the Pro 250 leader in 2nd place.

-Joe Wasson also finished out the season on the podium with a 2nd place Overall finish. Wasson battled the entire season for the lead while finishing just 15 points behind the OA leader.

-Chance Fullerton had a great performance at the final round finishing just shy of the Overall podium in 4th place. Fullerton's ability to adapt to the bigger Beta 430 RR Race Edition throughout the season, and his determination, showed in his results as he finished in 4th place Overall.

-Morgan Tanke had some bad luck in the final round resulting in a DNF. However, Tanke had a strong season with one win in the Women's Pro class and five 2nd place podiums resulting in a 2nd place finish for the 2019 National Hare & Hound series.

ZANE ROBERTS

Bike: 250 RR

"I was finally able to get things back on track this weekend at the final round of the National Hare & Hound series. I had some bad luck the past few races, so I was very happy to take a convincing win and end the season on a high note! I can't thank the whole Beta USA crew enough for helping make this a great season, and I'm excited for next year!"

JOE WASSON

Bike: 430 RR

"Round 9 was an awesome race! I knew going into it some miracles were going to have to happen for me to get the championship, but I still had a positive mindset! I got lined up on the start line and when the banner dropped we were off. 44 miles of virgin single track, rocks, and sand washes made for an awesome course. I was running third and made the pass for 2nd in the second loop. I could see the leaders dust, but I would have had to hang it all out there to get the win. It wasn't worth it because I still wouldn't have won the championship seeing how the points leader would have still been second, so I rode a smart race and had a blast!!!"

CHANCE FULLERTON

Bike: 430 RR

"The final round of National Hare & Hound went pretty well! After a horrible start, I charged to the front and ran 4th all day. I just couldn't make it to the lead group, but for my first year on a big bike I'll take it. I ended up only a couple points shy of 3rd in the championship! All in all I'm impressed with my overall riding. I can't wait to see how much more I have to improve. Thank you to everyone for the 2019 series!"

MORGAN TANKE

Bike: 250 RR

"Sunday was a tough day for me. I got off to a good start and was riding well. The course was very rocky and technical which I liked. I passed for second early into the first loop and held it going into loop 2. The technical sections of loop 2 gave me some breathing room between myself and the 3rd place rider and I was feeling good. Unfortunately my good day made a turn for the worse with about a mile to go. My motor seized up and I was dead in my tracks. After pushing my bike through the sand for a bit another racer came to the rescue and towed me to the finish, which unknowingly disqualified me due to a technicality. I'm extremely bummed that it ended up that way, but lucky I still managed a 2nd place in the championship for the team and I. I'm disappointed that my season ended this way, but I'm happy with how my first full season of desert racing went. I'm proud of what I've learned and accomplished and am excited for next year."

GNCC Round 12 Overview:

Location: Beckley, WV

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Mike Witkowski battled for the XC2 class lead for most of the day and ended taking home a 2nd place finish. Witkowski is currently in 3rd place for the series points standings 4 points behind 2nd place.

-Rachel Gutish finished just shy of the WXC podium in 4th place and is currently in 9th place for the series points standings.

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: 250 RR

"The Mountaineer GNCC terrain was very rocky and hilly. The week prior I had rode at my local sand track getting my fitness up to par, but I didn't exactly have rocks to practice so I just went at it the best I could with a good mindset toward the race. My Beta 250 RR got off to a great start. I went into the woods in second, but quickly passed for first and tried to check out. Unfortunately, I didn't have all the hot lines picked out and was quickly passed. I sat back and learned from the leader taking in all the good lines. About three laps in, I found myself in contention for the win again. I took a pit stop on lap three and the leader didn't gas, so I had about 30 seconds to make up. I had a really good lap and kept the gap manageable until a lapped rider cleaned me out on a downhill. Ultimately it was a bad lap that caused the leader to break away even more. I settled for 2nd place and 9th overall for the day's end result. I think without that major crash, and a few mistakes, I could have cleaned up and would have been in the hunt for a win. We have one more race at the Ironman GNCC to make it happen!"

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: 200 RR

"I got off to an excellent start at my last round of GNCC this season. I entered the woods in about fourth place, and by a few miles in had moved up into second. About three miles from the barrels I passed for the lead, and maintained it for several miles before dropping back into second. Lappers are a thing I have always struggled with, and as soon as we got into the thick of them on the third lap, I started to have quite a few problems. I dropped down into fourth place and was unable to make up any of the time I lost. With that being said, this is still the most competitive I have felt at a GNCC since I was injured. I have high hopes for next season! I am also looking forward to the rest of the EnduroCross series, where I am still in contention for the series title."

Beta press 9-4-19.jpg

East & West Hare Scramble Series Round 7 Overview:

Location: Stillwater, OK

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Beta Support Rider: Zane Roberts finished 3rd in the Pro 250 class, which gave him enough points to win the 2019 Pro 250 Class West Hare Scramble Championship title one round early!

-Joe Wasson took home the overall win closing the points gap between himself and teammate Max Gerston.

-Rachel Gutish topped the Women's Pro class podium and is currently in second place in the Eastern Hare Scramble Series points standings.

-Max Gerston finished in 2nd place and is currently leading the series points standings with a 16 point lead.

-Roberts' and Wasson's next race will be at the 7th round of the National Hare & Hound Series on September 14th in Lovelock, NV. Gutish's next event will be at round 8 of the National Enduro Series on September 8th in Park Hills, MO. Gerston's next event will be at the 2nd round of the Enduro X series in Denver, CO on October 19th.

ZANE ROBERTS

Bike: 250 RR

"I had a pretty bittersweet weekend, but overall I had a lot of fun! I had some issues that set me back around 30 minutes on the first lap, but I was able to ride hard and get back to third in 250 Pro which was good enough to wrap the championship up one round early! Although I'm a little bummed with the result on the day I'm stoked to bring the championship home! Huge thanks to the whole team at Beta for helping make this happen."

JOE WASSON

Bike: 430 RR

"Stillwater was a blast! The heat and humidity was on another level! I got a decent start then Max and I traded for the lead a couple times. I was able to get around him after the first lap, and then I put my head down and suffered through the heat. This was one of the toughest races I've done in a long time!"

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: 200 RR

"The East-West Shootout was my favorite AMA East round so far this year! The trail was fast and flowing for a Hare Scramble, and the 13-mile loop gave the riders enough room to spread out that lappers were almost nonexistent. I grabbed the holeshot in the Women's Pro class, and held that lead all the way through the checkered flag. I won both my class and the AM overall by several minutes. I am satisfied with my ride and ready for the next one!"

MAX GERSTON

Bike: 300 RR

"The Stillwater, OK East vs.West shootout was a tough one! It was hot and humid especially in the trees with no airflow. I felt a little off all day, struggling to find my timing but fought through it. My 300 was awesome and the team did a great job in the pits. Unfortunately I had to pit every lap, but that's just the way it goes. In the end I ended up second. With one round to go I am still in the points lead so it's all good! I am looking forward to getting some rest and recharging for the rest of the race year. Braaaap!"

National Enduro Round 6 Overview:

Location: Laurens, SC

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Mike Witkowski finished in 3rd place on the Pro 2 class podium at the final Sprint Enduro round of the 2019 series. Witkowski was able to secure a 2nd place finish in the Pro 2 class series championship points battle!

-Witkowski's next event will be at round 8 of the National Enduro Series on September 8th in Park Hills, MO.

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: 250 RR

"The Last round of the Full Gas Sprint Enduro series was located in South Carolina. On day 1 I started off consistent with some good times and one test win for the day. I really struggled to be comfortable in the Enduro Test. On Day 2, I was ready to put the hammer down and do good. I came out with the test win right off the bat. I proceeded to win the Cross Tests and was on par with some Pro 1 times. I was happy with my riding on Monday and how I turned it around. I ended up 3rd for the weekend, and ended the season championship in 2nd for the year. Thank you everyone for the support!"

-Joe Wasson finished on top of the Pro podium with the overall win and is currently leading the series points standings.

-Beta Support Rider: Zane Roberts took home another Pro 250 class win with a 6th place overall finish. Roberts' currently leads the series points standings with a 40 point lead.

-Morgan Tanke finished on the Women's Pro podium in 2nd place and is currently in 2nd place for the series points standings.

-Chance Fullerton battled a stomach virus and rode to a 5th place finish, and is currently in 4th place in the series points standings.

-Wasson's and Roberts' next race will be at the 7th round of the West Hare Scramble Series in Stillwater, OK on September 1st, which is also the East vs West Hare Scramble event! Tanke's and Fullerton's next event will be at the 7th round of the National Hare & Hound Series on September 14th in Lovelock, NV.

JOE WASSON

Bike: 430 RR

"Round 6 couldn't have gone any better!! I had a lot of confidence coming off the summer break! My Beta 430 was perfect all day long. It was a very tough race with the dust factors, so I knew I had to get out front quick! I got the lead about a mile into the race and never looked back!!"

ZANE ROBERTS

Bike: 250 RR

"I got off to a pretty good start this weekend but unfortunately pretty good was not good enough to stay out of the horrendous dust for the first part of the race. After about 20 miles the dust started to clear and I was able to start making some passes but had lost touch with the lead overall group by that point. I decided to play it safe and ride within my comfort zone to bring home a win in 250 Pro and 6th overall. While the overall position was not where I would like it to be, I was happy to win 250 Pro again and can't wait for the next round!"

MORGAN TANKE

Bike: 250 RR

"I got off to a slow start and didn't really find my groove until about 15 miles in. The course was extremely dry which made for some thick dust that made passing that much harder. I felt super comfortable on my 250 RR and started to flow and make some passes. I came into the pit in 2nd with 2 others right behind me. The Beta crew did what they do best and got me out of the pit in no time. Loop 2 was a little faster than the previous loop, I knew I had to charge and stay smooth. Not knowing where the other riders in my class where I gave it everything I had until the finish ending up in 2nd! "

CHANCE FULLERTON

Bike: 430 RR

"I went into this weekends race confident in my training and ready. That soon fell apart though as I began to feel very sick from food poisoning. I ran as well as I could and had to pull over a couple times. I still managed a Top 5 finish, so for the circumstances I think that's a pretty good result. I'm still looking for a podium here soon. Thanks to the team for everything"

Enduro X Round 1 Overview:

Location: Prescott, AZ

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Max Gerston finished out the 1st round just shy of the podium in 4th place.

-Rachel Gutish had a great night placing 3rd in the Women's Pro class.

-Both riders next event will be at the 7th round of the West Hare Scramble Series on September 1st in Stillwater, OK, which is also the East vs. West Hare Scramble event!

MAX GERSTON

Bike: 300 RR

"Prescott Endurocross was awesome. I had to ride the day show because of a rough last year so it was a long day of riding and racing. After being sick all week I wanted to get out there and do the best I could. I transferred straight to the main from the day show qualifiers and was having a blast on my 300 RR. It floated through the rocks like no other. In the three main event format, I went 5-4-4 moto scores for a 4th overall. I really wanted that podium as it was in sight! I can't wait to regroup and hammer down in Denver."

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: 200 RR

"I am so grateful to have finished out Rd. 1 of EnduroCross on the podium and not seriously injured. Another rider cut over on me about 3/4 of the way down the start straight. The resulting crash was so violent that she cracked her engine cases on my bike, while completely annihilating my front end. I was on the bottom of the pile, and by the time I got up everyone was pretty much gone. Despite never really getting my head back on straight after the crash, I was able to climb back up into third place, though it definitely wasn't pretty. I'm still super excited to get another chance at EnduroX, and I'm looking forward to round two in Denver!"

National Enduro Round 6 Overview:

Location: Wellston, OH

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

-Mike Witkowski finished in 5th overall and is currently in 4th place in the Pro 1 Class for the series points standings.

-Witkowski's next event will be at round 7 of the Sprint Enduro Series on September 1st in Laurens, SC.

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: 300 RR

"The National Enduro this weekend was held in Wellston,OH. I currently live only an hour from this track so I was excited for it. The terrain was very similar to what I normally ride. I had a complete blast at this track and was all smiles all day long. I ended up sticking around the 5th overall position all day with only one major mishap where I got off track and lost a lot of time. Other then that I had a fast last test time with 3rd overall. It was satisfying to know at the end I had the speed for the podium spot. Its just tough putting six test times together like that. All in All, it was a great time and an even better track. Big thanks to the NEPG group for laying out a fun course. So far this was my favorite all year. Also thanks to all the team partners and sponsors that make this all happen. The Beta 300-RR was epic all day!"

Mike Witkowski was riding great until he encountered some mechanical issues mid race, he was still able to get back out and salvage a 13th place finish. Witkowski is currently seated in 2nd place in the series points standings.

Rachel Gutish is back after a serious elbow injury. Gutish finished just off the podium in 4th place aboard her new Beta 200 RR race bike.

Beta press 6-25-19_2.jpg

CODY BARNES

Bike: 125 RR Race Edition

"Snowshoe isn't really one of my best events, but leading up to the race I prepped really well with the help of Alex Teagarden who let me stay with him and practice in the rocks! I started quite a few rows behind my other competitors, because I wasn't in the top 20 overall in points. I knew that this race was all about time. On the first lap I was able to put my head down and latch onto some fast XC2 riders in front of me. I ran a good lap catching up to first place in my class who started on row 4 and I started on row 11. I knew I was already winning with the adjusted time and had to plan my next move. I followed for a little while until he made a mistake and I passed him. After that I put my head down and rode a pretty mistake free race! My Beta 125 RR handled the rocks awesome today! It made my job a lot easier, and I was able to come out with the win in XC3 and 14th overall which is my best overall of the year."

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: 250 RR Race Edition

"The Snow Shoe GNCC is one of the best races on the circuit. With tons of fans and good tough racing. It's one you usually don't wanna miss. I started out good by hole-shoting my row and leading a bit which was cool verse some good competition. I was just getting my flow together on lap two and figuring out the track when I encountered a mechanical issue. When this happened I was at the bottom of the mountain. I had to ride 3 miles up the road to the pit. So fast forward 45 mins or more and the bike was fixed. I was so far down at that point, but I got back on the bike and finished the race. That's why we race, you never know what will happen. We won't give up till it's over with! Big thanks to everyone for getting me back on the track and working hard. I still have 4 more GNCC races to redeem myself and prove I belong on the podium every weekend."

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: 200 RR

"Snowshoe is the gnarliest GNCC of the year, and I was definitely nervous about it being my first race back after elbow surgery and being on a brand-new bike on top of that! But, the bike performed like a champ and my elbow mostly held together. I'm definitely not satisfied with a fourth place finish, but I'm happy I was at least competitive for most of the race"

Stix & Stones Extreme Enduro Overview:

Location: Kellogg, ID

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

Max Gerston finished just shy of the podium in 4th place aboard his Beta 300 RR at the Extreme Enduro event.

Gerston next event will be at the Tough Like RORR Extreme Enduro event on July, 6th in Tamaqua, PA and Ty Tremaine will be competing in the next 2 rounds of EnduroCross.

Beta press 6-25-19_4.jpg

MAX GERSTON

Bike: 300 RR

"The Stix and Stones Extreme Enduro was an awesome event. It had a ton of cool forest sections along with shale mountains and wet creeks to ride up. My 300 RR was working amazing and felt planted to the ground even in the nastiest of sections. I battled for the lead the majority of the race and a small mistake costed me big time. I came in a close 4th place. I really wanted a podium spot, but this race was a huge confidence builder for extreme races in the future. I can't wait till the next race!"

TY TREMAINE

Bike: 300 RR

"Day one @stixstonesoffroad is done and dusted. Had a ton of fun and my @betausa worked awesome. Ready for the big day tomorrow, this place is gnarly!!! Day two was the long race, 25 miles, allegedly impossible according to the promoters but I managed to make it through each section. My goal before the race was to finish top 5 but halfway through I changed that to just finishing. Very proud to cross the line in 8th of 9 finishers out of the over 400 who started the race."

Grand National Cross Country Series Round 1 Overview:

Location: Palatka, FL

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

Mike Witkowski grabbed the holeshot and finished round 1 on the XC2 Class podium in 3rd place.

Cody Barnes finished round 1 on the XC3 Class podium in 2nd place.

The next race for both riders will be at the 2nd round of the Grand National Cross Country Series on March 16th-17th in Washington, GA.

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"The Wild Boar GNCC is always tough on the body and bikes as it is always hot and sandy with deep sand whoops. My Beta 250 RR got off to an awesome start grabbing the XC2 holeshot and getting me into the lead. I was feeling so good all day. I should've pushed harder toward the beginning of the day because the last couple laps I still had a lot left in the tank. I was happy with the winter prep I put in and my fitness. The bike soaked up the big sand whoops really well which I was happy about. All in all, it was a great weekend for Beta! Thank you Beta Racing and everyone for all the hard work. Glad it's paying off!"

CODY BARNES

Bike: Beta 125 RR Race Edition

"I got off to a good start and was sitting in 3rd and then moved into the 1st place spot at the beginning of the second lap. Then I was able to pull a small gap. As I went to pit for gas on the beginning of the third lap I noticed my radiator began leaking. Everyone gave a helping hand to replace the busted radiator. I lost a lot of time from the pit stop and dropped down several spots. By the end of the third lap I was able to make it back to 4th. I knew I was in podium contention, so I put my head down and pushed as hard as I could and was able to make it to the second place spot on the podium. My Beta 125 RR was running awesome all day! I'm happy with how I rode, I just had some things that were out of my control. Looking forward to next weekend."

Beta finishes 1st and 2nd in Full Gas Sprint Enduro, plus AMA East Hare Scrambles and Rev Limiter news!

Beta press 3-6-19.jpg

Full Gas Sprint Enduro Series Round 2 Overview:

Location: Blackshear, GA

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

Cody Barnes finished on the podium this weekend in 2nd place in the Pro 2 class at the second round of the FGSE series.

Mike Witkowski also ended up on the podium with a 3rd place finish in the Pro 2 class.

The next race for both riders will be at the 1st round of the Grand National Cross Country Series on March 9th-10th in Palatka, FL.

CODY BARNES

Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"My weekend started off good with a good first test, but I made some mistakes in the first enduro test and dropped a few positions. After some track changes, due to the mud holes, I started making ground on the competition and worked my way into 3rd going into the last test of the day. With about three turns until the finish on the last test I had a good get-off causing me to lose a lot of time and dropping me back to 6th for the day.

On day two of racing I knew I had my work cut out for me. I was able to do very well all day in the cross test, but I was losing some time in the enduro test. I was still able to make my way to podium contention going into the last enduro test. I found where I was losing time and went into the last test knowing I had to run a perfect test. When the test was done, I was able to claim the second place spot in the Pro 2 class. My bike was working awesome all weekend and I had a blast at this event!"

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"The first day of the Sprint Enduro in Georgia couldn't have went better. I stayed off the ground while riding smooth and consistent. With only a couple mistakes I was happy with my bike and riding performance. I ended up winning day 1, which I hadn't done yet. I was happy going into day two with a solid lead.

Day two started off on the wrong foot with a shoulder problem in the first test leading me to lose over 10 seconds. After the first test I was down and out of the lead. But, I charged all day despite the adversity I endured. I ended up winning test 5 for the day, but I came short of 2nd place for the weekend by less than a second due to my first test result on day two. I was pretty bummed as I wanted to win and I knew it was all mine after day one. Ready for our first GNCC next weekend in the Florida Sand. Definitely motivated after a not so good end result at this sprint enduro!"

AMA East Hare Scramble Series Round 2 Overview:

Location: Graysburg, NC

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

Beta Factory Team rider; Rachel Gutish finished on top of the podium in 1st place in the Women's class at round 2 of the East Hare Scramble Series. Rachel Gutish's next race will be at the 1st round of the Grand National Cross Country Series on March 9th-10th in Palatka, FL.

Beta Support rider; Kyle McDonal also topped the podium with a 1st place finish in the Pro Class.

RACHEL GUTISH

Bike: Beta 390 RR Race Edition

"I'm very happy with how the race went! I was smart and consistent through the deep ruts and mud-holes, which was enough to give me the win! This also moves me up into first place in the series points, which I'm pretty excited about."

KYLE MCDONAL

Bike: Beta 390 RR Race Edition

"Yesterday was round 2 of the AMA East Championship in Garysburg, NC and with all the rain we have been getting it made for a good mud race. Six riders showed up on the pro line and with starting so close to the corner I was last off the line. I was able to make good passes and pick a lot of good lines the first lap to put myself in 1st where I rode for the remainder of the day with a 30 second to 1 minute lead. We did 9 laps on a shortened course due to standing water with a mix of single track, clay hill climbs and open jeep roads. I was able to stay consistent throughout the race and stay out of any deep mud holes where other riders were getting stuck and that really gave me an advantage over the 2 hours. On lap 8 I smashed my shift lever, but luckily I was able to use my hand in the open section to shift and leave it in 3rd for the woods sections."

Rev Limiter Overview:

Location: Decatur, TX

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

Max Gerston placed 6th at the 2019 Rev Limiter last weekend. Max Gerston's next race will be at the Wild West Extreme Enduro event on May 4th, 2019 in Sparks, Nevada.

MAX GERSTON

Bike: Beta 300 RR Race Edition

"The Rev Limiter Extreme Enduro was tough! I actually had a lot of fun riding the terrain and my Beta 300 RR was finding incredible traction. Unfortunately the race was poorly organized so the scoring was confusing and rules were being changed mid race which takes away from the legitimacy of the results. I am looking forward to the next round, and I continue to fall in love with the 2019 300 RR"

TREMAINE AND TANKE FINISH THE 2018 ENDUROCROSS SERIES WITH TWO 3RD PLACE PODIUM FINISHES, CULLINS WINS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP!

November 6, 2018 Lane Swall
Beta press 11-6-18.jpg

EnduroCross Round 6 Overview:

Location: Boise, Idaho

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

Ty Tremaine finished in 3rd place at round 6 in Boise, Idaho while ending the season in 3rd place.

Morgan Tanke placed 3rd at the event and finished the 2018 series in 3rd place.

Max Gerston had an 8th place finish at round 6 of EnduroCross, and finished in 12th place in the season points standings for the 2018 series.

Mason Ottersberg placed 11th at the event, while finishing in 9th place for the series points standings.

Beta USA Support Team

Ty Cullins had a 5th place finish at round 6 of EnduroCross and finished the season in 6th place in the Pro class. Cullins also won the Junior Pro Class Championship this season, which is a class for pro riders under the age of twenty one.

For more information about the EnduroCross series go to: www.endurocross.com

TY TREMAINE

Bike: Beta 300 RR Race Edition

"Coming into Boise, I was just thankful to be racing and healthy after the bad luck in Everett. Kyle Redmond had a one point advantage going into the race but I didn't even think about it. I knew what my goals were and I just raced my own race. I felt strong start to finish and managed to come away with a 3rd and couldn't be happier to put Beta on the podium. I'm happy with the year and excited for what the future will hold."

MAX GERSTON

Bike: Beta 390 RR Race Edition

"Coming into the Endurocross finale in Boise, I really wanted to have a strong showing. Still struggling with the finger injury I had a hard time in hot laps and stalled my bike. I qualified straight to the main and ended up 8th in the main. Issues on the first lap set me so far back it was hard to make up ground. I am very excited to refocus and get ready for 2019."

MASON OTTERSBERG

Bike: Beta 390 RR Race Edition

"I qualified 4th out of my heat race and finished 11th in the main event. My speed was there and this was for sure the best I have ridden, just was too far back off of the start of the main after we all came together in the firewood. I have had many ups and downs through the season, but I finished better in the championship this year with 9th over last years 13th. There is so much more of me to give in this sport and I will not stop until I've made it to the top. Doubt me or believe in me, it's going to happen."

MORGAN TANKE

Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"I felt a lot better going into the last round in Boise, my ankle still wasn't 100% but I was ready to give it my all. The track was really fun to ride and the firewood pit was very difficult to navigate. I started out in 3rd place and was hanging up front with the top 2 riders for most of the race. I was able to put in a smooth ride and get my Beta on the podium in 3rd. Breaking my ankle mid season was a big bump in the road, but I'm happy that I made progress each race and ended the year strong!"

TY CULLINS

Bike: Beta 300 RR Race Edition

"I had around 7th gate pick in the main event, but my starts have been good all year and I was able to pull the holeshot. However, after several mistakes on the first lap I was back in 9th place. From there I just tried to ride fast and consistent and was able to make my way to 5th, getting my third top 5 of the season and winning the Junior Championship. Coming into this year I was expecting to be top 10 and finishing the year one point short of 5th and winning the Junior Championship means I surpassed all my goals. I'm excited to get back to training and come back for podiums in 2019."

National Enduro Round 10 Overview:

Location: Stanton, Alabama

Beta Factory Race Team Results:

Mike Witkowski placed 9th in the Pro 1 class of the last NEPG event of the year. Witkowski ended the 2018 season in 11th place.

For more information about the National Enduro series go to: www.nationalenduro.com

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"The Gobbler Getter Enduro was one of the races I have never done before, and I have never raced in this state of Alabama. The soil is sandy and the trees are tight! The track conditions were near perfect. The tight trees and ever changing elevation caught me off guard. I was expecting this last National Enduro race to cap off a good end to the year since I did so well at the last GNCC event, but the race had other plans. It seemed like I couldn't get a good flow going, but talking with other riders, that seemed to be everyone's issue. On a good note, I finished the day stronger than where I started. My Beta 300 was perfect and very fun to race. I'm looking forward to working hard this winter and starting round 1 with a fresh start here in a couple months! Thanks Beta for all the support!"

GNCC Round 11 Overview!

Beta press 10-2-18_1.jpg

Location: Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania

Beta Factory Race Team Results

-Newly signed Cody Barnes raced his Beta 125 RR for the first time this season in a GNCC event. Barnes placed 4th at round 11 and is currently in 4th place in the XC3 class points standings.

-Mike Witkowski finished in 5th place aboard his 250 RR Race Edition, and is currently in 9th place in the XC2 class points standings.

The next event for the Beta USA Factory Team will be at the 12th round of the Grand National Cross Country Series in Clairsville, Ohio on October 13th. For more information on the GNCC series go to: https://gnccracing.com/

CODY BARNES

Bike: Beta 125 RR

"I started off with a second place start and was able to get in the lead within the first 3 corners. I lead the whole first lap and was feeling awesome on my Beta 125 RR. I was battling for first place during the second lap, but sadly on the 3rd lap after I made the pass for the lead I made a mistake. I ended up taking a bad crash on a straightaway and ended up hurting my right shoulder. By the time I got going again I was battling for third. I tried to keep pace to salvage a podium position but with my shoulder hurting I was making a lot of mistakes. I was forced to back down my pace to prevent any other injuries due to crashes. I ended up finishing 4th for the day."

MIKE WITKOWSKI

Beta 250 RR Race Edition

"The Mason Dixon GNCC track got a lot of rain during the week which made for a tough race. My Beta 250 RR handled the track with comfort all day. I ran 4th in the XC2 class most of the race until about two laps to go. I gave it 100% and didn't leave anything off the track. Some minor mistakes pushed me back to 5th in class for the day and 12th overall. One of my best rides this year. I really wanna get on the podium, I know we will get there before the year ends."

West Hare Scramble Round 3 Overview
Location: Ocotillo, California
Course Conditions: Sunny skies with loamy soil from rain the day before
Beta Factory Race Team Results:
-Mason Ottersberg placed 4th at round 3 of the WHS series aboard his 430RR Race Edition.
-Max Gerston caught a cold the night before the West Hare Scramble event and was unable to race at 100%, but still managed to gain some points for the series totals.

The next race event for Max Gerston will be at the 4th round of the AMA West Hare Scramble. For more information about the WHS go to: westharescramble.com

MASON OTTERSBERG
Series: West Hare Scramble
Bike: Beta 430 RR Race Edition
"On Wednesday morning I decided last minute to go race in Gorman after seeing pictures on social media about the upcoming rain. I was honestly just looking to show up to get some race seat time, and see where I stacked up. After struggling to find a flow from a dead last start, I was able to basically come from 16th all the way up to 4th place by the end of the 8 laps."

MAX GERSTON
Series: West Hare Scramble
Bike: Beta 390 RR Race Edition
"Gorman didn't exactly go as planned. I was hit with some sort of flu the day before with gnarly stomach pains. The next day it was all I could do to get geared up for the race. I was able to race the first two laps, but then I was hit with stomach pains super hard. I raced another few laps so I could at least card a finish. As of now I plan on resting up in preparation for the race in Idaho next weekend."

GNCC Round 3 Overview
Location: Washington, Georgia
Course Conditions: Scattered showers with occasional mud pits and loamy soil.
Beta Factory Race Team Results:
-Jordan Ashburn placed 6th in the XC1 class at round 3 of the GNCC and is currently in 12th place overall.
-Mike Witkowski finished in 17th in the XC2 class after a freak mechanical issue forced him to pit for a repair.
-Rachel Gutish placed 3rd in the WXC class at round 3 of the GNCC and is currently sitting in 3rd place for the season standings.

The next race for Ashburn, Witkowski, and Gutish will be Round 4 of the GNCC on April 7th in Morganton, North Carolina. For more information on the GNCC series go to: gnccracing.com

JORDAN ASHBURN
Series: GNCC
Bike: Beta 430 RR Race Edition
"The General GNCC started off pretty well for me. I was able to make a pass for 4th going into the 3rd lap. The track was very rough and had tons of lines. There were lots of lapped riders as well. I found myself in 5th place on the 4th lap just 21 seconds from the leader. We were all really close all day but the leaders were able to sneak away the last two laps. I finished 6th place for the day. I'm definitely gonna build on this and reach that podium!"

MIKE WITKOWSKI
Series: GNCC
Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition
"I got off to a near holeshot on my Beta 250 RR. I went into the woods 2nd. Then a little bit later my bike started to bog. I was trying to figure out the problem but couldn't diagnose it. Once I got back to the pits and we got the bike fixed I was about an hour down from the lead group and dead last overall. I charged on and didn't give up. I came back to 17th in my class."

RACHEL GUTISH
Series: GNCC
Bike: Beta 350 RR Race Edition
"I am happy to have repeated last round's performance, earning another WXC podium finish for Beta. I have always enjoyed The General, and I'm glad that the series returned to the property and reestablished the round. Despite a bad start and some issues throughout the day, I was able to quickly recover to a 4th place finish by the end of the first lap. From there I continued to charge and on the final lap moved into 3rd place. The course was a blast and I am looking forward to the next round in a few weeks!"

CHANCE FULLERTON
Series: National Hare & Hound
Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition
"My race went well this past weekend running top 5 overall most of the race. I ended up getting lost for awhile and finishing 8th overall and first Pro 250 Class. I can't thank everyone enough who helped me get comfortable on the bike, and I plan on being on the top spot a lot more."

MORGAN TANKE
Series: National Hare & Hound
Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition
"I had a great time at the 2nd round of the National Hare and Hound series. The dust was really bad for the first 30 miles and it was super fast which I don't have much experience in. After a speedy pit stop I went on to the second loop and that's where it got more technical. I was able to keep a good pace for the rest of the race and took home the win! It feels great to be back racing after an injury!"

JOE WASSON
Series: National Hare & Hound
Bike: Beta 430 RR Race Edition
"Did some bomb run practice Saturday morning, had a good line, but unfortunately didn't get the jump. I was about 20th off the start and made a lot of passes in the first 20 miles. Then there were some very high speed whoops for a long ways and I wasn't able to run the top pace. I came in the pits in 11th and was able to make one more pass. I was starting to catch the riders in front of me but ran out of time and I ended up in 10th overall."

Jordan Ashburn finishes 9th at the 1st round of the GNCC series.

GNCC Round 1 Overview
Location: Union, South Carolina
Course Conditions: Scattered Showers with occasional mud pits and loamy soil.

JORDAN ASHBURN
Series: GNCC
Bike: Beta 430 RR Race Edition
"The start of the season was a little "rough" with nearly 1000 bikes racing the track was brutal. I started out the first lap in 7th not getting a good jump off the line. I struggled battling the changing track conditions lap after lap. I was able to hang in there until lap 3 when I fell going around a mud hole. Then I lost sight of the group ahead. I ended up 9th in XC1, and I'm ready for them at the next round."

MIKE WITKOWSKI
Series: GNCC
Bike: Beta 250 RR Race Edition
"The GNCC started out well with me going into the woods in about 4th place. I quickly hopped into the lead about a half a mile in the race. I ran in the lead for 2-3 miles before picking a bad line and getting passed by a couple riders. Then halfway through the 2nd lap I made a rider error and went down really hard. I got the bike up and running with thanks to a fellow Beta racer that stopped to help me. But it was to great of discomfort to proceed on with the race. I am dealing with great soreness and discomfort but nothing is broken."

Gerston takes 3rd place in the 2018 King of Motos, Wasson places 5th Overall at the First Round of the National Hare & Hound Series!

February 8, 2018 Lane Swall
Beta press 2-6-18.jpg

The 2018 King of Motos event took place last weekend in Johnson Valley, California. Top Enduro riders showed up to compete for the title in the two day event that went late into the night. Riding conditions were dry and navigating the course was a problem for most riders. Beta USA factory rider Max Gerston placed 3rd overall aboard his 300 RR Race Edition. This was Max's second year with a podium finish in the KOM event. For more information about the King Of Motos event go to: www.ultra4racing.com

Gerston's next event will be the 2nd round of the West Hare Scramble series on February 17th. For more information on the WHS series go to: westharescramble.com

Max Gerston: "King of the Motos was a complete cluster. Navigation errors, course workers directing in the wrong direction, confusing course crossings all made for an interesting race. Through all the confusion I just kept moving forward and ended up with Moto scores of 4-3-6 for 3rd overall."

The first round of the NEPG also kicked off last weekend in Wedgefield, South Carolina. The weather started off cold and damp making the sandy soil loamy and full of traction. By the end of the race the weather had turned to full downpours and the conditions worsened. Beta USA factory rider Mike Witkowski placed 14th in the Pro1 Class aboard his Beta 250 RR Race edition. For more information about the NEPG Series go to: www.nationalenduro.com

Witkowski's next event will be the 1st round of the GNCC series. For more information on the GNCC series go to: gnccracing.com

The first round of the Kenda National Hare and Hound took place last weekend in Red Mountain, California. Clear skies and moderate temperatures made for great riding conditions, minus a few dusty spots.
Joe Wasson placed 5th overall and in the Pro Class aboard his Beta 430RR 4-Stroke. Wasson was able to pull the holeshot and led the race for a while. Newly signed Chance Fullerton placed 2nd in the 250 Pro Class in the first round of the series.
The second round of the Kenda National Hare and Hound Series will take place in Ocotillo, CA on February 24th. For more info visit nationalhareandhound.com

Joe Wasson: "Weekend started off good. I pulled the holeshot over the top of the first hill and was beyond stoked at how well my 430 pulled. Led for about 15 miles then ended up losing a position, then I held second for a while after that. I was riding at a pace where I knew I was safe and wasn't going to make any mistakes but ended up losing a couple more positions which left me in 5th place. There was some good competition out there, but I was able to hold 5th and finish the race strong."

Chance Fullerton: "The race started out well getting a jump on just about everyone then later getting passed by teammate Joe Wasson about a half mile in. I kept a comfortable pace with the top guys and kept going along to the finish where I finished 2nd 250 Pro and 13th overall. I definitely have more in me and am expecting a much better finish at the next round."
